Dr. Chrisna M. Perry is an Educational Psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with children who are require academic, social, and emotional support. In June 2006, Dr. Perry established her private practice, Comprehensive Learning Services, which started out of the perceived need to bring academic and social-emotional healing services to the south side of Chicago, where they were not conveniently being offered at the time.
In her private practice, Dr. Perry and her team of Learning Behavioral Specialists, Executive Functioning Coaches, Social Skills Instructors, Speech Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists work to understand children’s various developmental needs and learning styles; as well as to support each child in building strengths, addressing difficulties and pursuing interests. The support programs offered at Comprehensive Learning Services provide individual and group remediation to students with various learning disabilities including: dyslexia, dyscalculia, language processing disorders, written expression disorder, and executive functioning disorder. Additionally, in the last 14 years, Dr. Perry expanded her professional affinity of supporting children with underlying social emotional deficits due to ADHD, Anxiety and Autism Spectrum Disorder in her Social Skills Superstars program to foster social success.
Supporting children who have symptoms of attention difficulties, low frustration tolerance, depression, anxiety, low motivation, and emotional dysregulation is a passion of Dr. Perry. She believes that in order to truly support children in need, it is essential to support parents and educators. Therefore, in addition to facilitating free, monthly ADHD parent support group meetings, she also provides parent coaching sessions to parents who need specialized training to support the academic, social and emotional development of their children. Lastly, Dr. Perry has presented countless workshops to educators and staff to support children’s self-regulated learning and social-emotional functioning.
Dr. Perry received her Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and her Doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
